Meditation 1-Minute Style

Nobody ever talks about this, but I'm bored by meditation. I can't stand it. It's dull, nothing happens, you're just supposed to sit there and try to erase your thoughts. Impossible! Confusing! Maddening! . . . And yet, I recently discovered a way to do what's called 60-second, or one-minute, meditation. Now, this is much less threatening and less daunting than having to sit quietly for 5 to 20 minutes. With this quickie version you can get all the benefits of being a Tibetan monk in only one minute. And you only have to do it three times a week. It's still boring and unusual and so different from everything we've been taught in Western culture. But it's supposed to lower cotrisol and do wonders for the brain and for stress reduction. Hard to believe that doing something for such a short span of time can have so many advantages. Plus, J.D. Salinger was big into meditation, and you know how eccentric he is! Anyway, I tried one-minute meditation and I feel I saved a lot of time. The first video is David Lynch, one of my favorite film directors, discussing how he meditates every day.
