Relaxing in Birmingham, England
Did I tell you I'm reading Malcolm Kendrick, M.D.'s new book? The Great Cholesterol Con: The Truth About What Really Causes Heart Disease and How to Avoid It. Naturally I'll be reviewing it soon in this blog, but I wanted to let you know his conclusion. (I always read the last chapter of a book before the first.) He concludes that the cause of heart disease is not high cholesterol but high stress. I must say that when I was in England a few years ago I felt very stressed because I was in a different time zone. The way I relaxed was by going into Waterstone's. Now I'd love to tell you about a wonderful site, the Birmingham Directory, which should let you do just what I did, that is, escape stress at the snap of your fingers. How? By letting you find all the fun and interesting things you can do in the city, such as visiting the local Warterstone's bookstore. The site offers a local search features which is sure to turn up some hidden gems even in towns you think you know well. Try it and see what you can find in Birmingham. In addition to Waterstone's I found about 30 other bookstores. As you can easily tell, that's how I relax, but you might look up night clubs, music stores, parks, bowling alleys, or anything else you take a fancy to. Enjoy! And also try WeLoveLocal.com, a Web site that lets you do all the above and more.
