The Great Cholesterol Con

I'm reading an absorbing new book by Malcolm Kendrick, M.D., The Great Cholesterol Con, which details, with wit and humor, but also with all the good science you'd expect from a world-class physician, how the great mass of people have come to believe a myth about cholesterol. The myth is debunked in the book, and one quickly learns that it is not cholesterol that causes heart disease. Eating cholesterol doesn't even raise cholesterol levels. In fact, low dietary intake of cholesterol is more often associated with heart disease. What causes heart disease? That, the author attributes to stress. In a future post I'll talk more about this book, and about how to reduce stress.
