Celery can lower blood pressure. Dubious? The fact is that studies show that celery works to improve health. It achieves this miraculous result easily. Phthalideis is the chemical in celery that does the trick. Four stalks of celery reduce blood pressure by 13 percent. But celery has other chemicals that may be toxic in high doses and researchers caution that celery eating is, paradoxically, not their recommended method of reducing blood pressure.
